Bwa na na na na na na na na na na na, NERD GIRL.

Summer Keri can be described as thus…

  • Sometimes she bakes vampire themed cupcakes
  • Sometimes she eats Polish food stuffs
  • Sometimes she screams her brains out while driving on the parkway
  • Sometimes she goes to comic conventions
  • Sometimes she starts liking yoga
  • Sometimes this is repetitious

Forgive me, I was going for a change of pace sort of thing by attaching bullet points to my thoughts. Have I accomplished anything different than normal paragraph blogging? Nope, nope and nope.

Err, I tried out a new bar!

While in Whole Foods the other day I spotted this bar and knew the name sounded familiar. Still not sure which blogger was talking about it but I figured that anything that had a name that was as epic as RAW REVOLUTION had to be good.

I very much enjoy ingredient lists that are easy to read. I also very much enjoyed the bar itself which was, as expected, amazing. You can’t really go wrong with chocolate and coconut and this thing had a good staying-full-factor going on. Not a buy for all the time but something I would most certainly purchase again!

Over the weekend I took a trip to a little thing called PHILIDELPHIA COMIC CON 2010. I, along with my roommate Mandy and my fellow blogger Kat, enjoyed three days of complete nerdy madness…. and it was AWESOME.

We’re pretty much the hottest nerd girls ever. Just saying.

I took a TON of pictures (all of which can be found on muh Facebook!) and made cupcakes for the occasion as well. Aaahhh, quick backstory! The main reason we actually went to the con is because my roomie is OBSESSED with the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she’s basically in love with James Marsters, who played Spike, and we found out he was going to be there ALL THREE DAYS.

….yeah, I can see why she’s in love.

Ahem, so because he played a vampire on the show I felt that Googling “Buffy cupcakes” was a worthwhile effort. In doing so, I ended up with this:

IT’S SPIKE’S HAIR. I’m pretty sure I laughed the entire time while making these but I actually thought the idea was quite clever! Pretty sure though that my mom called me an idiot when I held one up for her to look at. Hahahahaha.

Looks like someone’s been bit! πŸ˜‰

The last one was a joke from the show itself (season 7!)

I turned THIS

(HAHAHAHAHA Spike drew this of Angel)

Into THIS:

This just shows how much of a ridiculous human being I am… oh well, I’m proud of them either way πŸ˜€

And last week it wasn’t me doing the kitchen creating for once, it was Liz! I like going by her house because she likes to feed me. Hahaha.

Chocolate covered gingerbread with apple filling? SO AMAZINGLY GOOD.

Chocolate bar with chocolate mousse filling? Oh my goodness, it’s things like this that make me loooooooove being Polish!

Oh, and in the midst of the chocolate/cookie madness, Liz was creating a mushroom onion chicken dish with rice/buckwheat and a white wine sauce. She so generously shared with me and, well, see for yourself.

(Can we just talk about how much I adore the bowl?!)

She kept being all nervous that it wouldn’t turn out well but lo and behold, it was super delicious! The chicken was cooked nice and tender, the sauce turned out really well and everyone knows that I love anything with mushrooms in it

Dear Liz, quit doubting yourself. In the kitchen you got mad skillz… yo. Sincerely, Keri.

That is my letter of honesty… I speak nothing but the truth!

Early run tomorrow morning so I’m hitting le’ hay. Nighty night bloggers and bloggies! ❀

  1. VAMPIRE CUPCAKES!!! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun =D

Speaking of cupcakes…there’s this place in NYC called Babycakes that makes everything gluten/dairy/sugar free. I saw it on Unique Eats (the Cooking Channel is my new best friend). I think we need to go have some cupcakes. http://www.babycakesnyc.com/

  2. Dear Keri,

Thank you for the encouragement. And thank you for not laughing at me too much when I panicked because the sauce was gelatinous for a moment. Also, for being brave enough to try the food I cooked. Next time I’ll get even better Polish stuffs for you to eat.

    Sincerely,
    Liz.

Pierniczki and milka chocolate, I grew up on that stuff. Please tell me you’ve had Kinder Surprise eggs. Or Kinder Bueno bars. Technically they’re German, but…

Oh, and krowki, too!!!! …The Polish stores here in Denver suck, to the point that I wish I could get a care package… πŸ˜›
