“I need all these things… a month is a long time!”

Like my roomie says, as soon as you get home Christmas officially begins. And needless to say, I think the LaForge house has that covered.

So it might not be real but I lurveeeeee our Christmas tree. See that ornament right shaped like a Christmas tree in the middle? Yeah, that’s Cate in it. We’re notorious for having dozens of ornaments with our faces all over them. Hahahaha.

 

I also love this guy.

The only games he plays involves legitimate toys. My little wolf doesn’t mess around.

 

Like I said in my last post, finals have been off-the-wall chaotic and the rest of the week has been no exception. Let’s backtrack a bit, shall we? Nothing too detailed, just the norm.

 

I made sure to celebrate Cookie Friday! The Dalys ones are pretty good at not failing me when I need them most. Sugar cookies FTW.

“Did you just take a picture of the wall?”

“Sigh, no. It was of my cookie… I’m a food blogger.”

 

Dalys does have it’s flaws though.

It looks like a good meal except for the fact that the chicken was entirely PINK on the inside and hence completely inedible…not cool Rider. Je n’aime pas.

 

However, sometimes I unintentionally make a happy face out of my food. Reflection of my mood much?

My Sunday tradition of an egg wrap continued on… and didn’t fall completely apart. SCORE.

Peppers, carrots, spinach, feta, egg, tomato, ham… and the kitchen sink. It’s just that good that I want to put everything inside the wrap… can’t help myself!

 

I also came to the realization that I LOVE taking pictures this way (whilst doing research for my CAR article mind you)

Chobani containers are quite photogenic I must say.

Beautiful! (especially when filled with half a banana, AB and granola!)

 

After my last “final” there was a Starbucks celebration

I’ve been reading around the blogs that Pumpkin Spice is nearing it’s end for the season?!? Say it ain’t so Starbucks. Dear me, what am I going to do? I’m going to miss you P-spice, that’s what!

 

Later that night, a little drink/QAF action was in order. It’s a fantastic combination, I recommend it.

And now… I’m home for a month.

Well obviously eating is one of the first things I have to do when I walk through the door. Pineapple Chobani, 3/4 cup Cheerios and half of a RIPE RIPE RIPE banana that I found hidden on the counter. Chubby asked me where I found it and I yelled, “DIBS!” at him. Listen man, I’m a fighter when it comes to fruit.

And some afternoon coffee in the World’s Best Grandma mug ๐Ÿ˜€

 

It’s amazing how I could have forgotten how ridiculously fun North Jersey is. I’ve already seen people stopped in mid-traffic to chase after money, random cars swerving all over the street, Chubby and I have been internet hunting for a Capital One commercial, the U.S. government called but didn’t say anything and Cate yelled at Max, “Are you falling asleep while I’m talking to you?!?!”

 

It’s only been about 4 hours. This break is going to be mighty interesting… I can feel it!

All over the place

I tend to forget what I’ve written about and what I haven’t. There’s been a blogging lull (4 days?!?!) and I have all these food pictures and they need a home!

Well, this one isn’t a food picture…. this is A313 being lame awesome before pub night.

The bathroom mirror makes these things acceptable. I’m convinced.

Starbucks drawings make me go awwwwww all over the place.

Happy return indeed!

I cracked open the CHIA SEEDS and experimented with them in a bowl of oats. Just 1 tbsp, still trying to get a feel of what the best way to use these is.

Doesn’t that look particularly, er, oatmeal-y?

The result came out fabulously. The don’t really have a prominent taste but I enjoyed the texture a bunch. I’m going to continue to look into other ways to use this nutritional powerhouse… for some reason chia pudding keeps popping into my head? ๐Ÿ™‚

Although, I do now realize what the blogworld means when they talk about the seeds getting stuck in your teeth. ๐Ÿ˜€

Obsession with tiny salads… and look, edamame!

SIDENOTE: There is an edamame.com and the fact that the vegetable has it’s own website might just be one of the most adorable things I have ever encountered.

SIDENOTE 2: The day before yesterday I dropped my full container of salad all over the floor in Cranberries. It was a sad, sad day. I was able to get another one for free but felt SUPER bad about it. Ohh Butterfingers LaForge, you never cease to embarrass yourself!

Rider? I barely know her!

Rider life has officially started up again and at full force and full of happy shenanigans. Being a senior at college is like nothing I could have imagined; in the best possible way mind you!

I’ve been gym-ing, starting classes, celebrating thirsty Thursday, walking all over the place, enjoying being back in the company of my beloved Rider kids and of course, EATING!

First pumpkin spice latte of the season! This will forever be my absolute favorite flavor of this beverage and sparked up the love for Starbucks that I had forgotten about over the summer. I forsee many more of these in the future.

This is the only picture of my room I have bothered to take a picture of so far… go figure why. These are our desks and our TV and I’m going to be saying this A LOT this semester but our room is HUGE. More pictures will continue to appear so you’ll eventually see what I’m talking about!

First Dalys breakfast of the year! The wall of cereal is back and better than ever. In the bowl was a combination of Kashi H2H and Kashi Go-Lean with some cranberries and almond slices on top and was rounded out with some cantaloop and a peach. I only ate half of the peach and decided I need to figure out portion control when it comes to the cereal. The dispenser kind of just waterfalls in your bowl so I need to figure out proper cup-age.

And yes, I did in fact take a picture in the dining hall with people around me! WHEE!

Oddly enough I’ve only indulged in breakfast pictures? Well, it IS my favorite meal of the day after all. A bangin’ bowl of oats is ALWAYS picture worthy! This bowl included:

  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 small banana
  • 1 tbsp flax seed
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup multigrain Cheerios
  • A few Quaker Oatmeal Squares (I FORGOT HOW AMAZING THEY ARE)
  • 1 tbsp honey almond butter

For being made in a dorm room, this was an exceptional bowl o’ oats! It came out super creamy for some reason and I honestly think the protein powder made a huge difference. That will be an addition that I will be keeping in mind!

That breakfast was the morning after a lovely trip to the Rider pub the night before. There was booze, dancing, peacocks (LOL),ย  Jude Law videos and late night fan fiction story time!ย  THIS hooligan clearly had a good time

Le’ sigh. A class act kinda girl right here… there is no such thing as self-respect when mirror pictures are involved. But look, a sneak peek at our bathroom!

Sidenote: The reason I added the powder in the first place was because I don’t think I’m getting enough protein in my diet still. I was borderline anemic during the ED days and have realized my food choices (aside from my nut butter obsession) are almost TOO vegetarian esq. The amount of gym time I have been doing has already increased greatly so it’s essential that I get enough protein in my diet for healthy muscle repair!

I think Edward agrees ๐Ÿ˜€
